We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our Asset Management Services team based in Currambine and Warnbro. 

The Senior Property Accountant will have responsibility to provide specialised accounting services to the property management function. The position is also responsible for ensuring client and management reporting needs are satisfied in a professional and diligent manner and that accounting records are correctly maintained.

Core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Prepare monthly financial reporting pack on a portfolio of retail properties, including any system reports. 
  • Assist Property Managers with the preparation, collation and review of end of month reports for cash based properties
  • Assist Property Managers with queries in relation to tenant account transactions and owner reports
  • Assist the Property Managers with preparation of yearly Property outgoings reconciliations, preparation of  tenant reconciliations and yearly property budgets and forecasts
  • Assist property managers with the take on of new properties, ensuring all forms etc. are completed accurately and in a timely manner and any necessary financial information is loaded, as required
  • Review of Monthly Trust Account bank reconciliations to ensure are accurate and have been prepared in a timely manner
  • Oversee daily payment runs, ensuring all payments are made as required and in accordance with the documented policies and procedures.
  • Perform database maintenance activities and ensure that property and tenant database records are accurate and up to date
  • Suggest any system and report changes required to meet client reporting requirements
  • Mentor and coach other junior team members

The successful candidate will have:

  • Degree qualification in Accounting
  • Minimum of 2 year's demonstrable experience within Management Accounting in a medium to large Property organisation
  • Management Reporting International (MRI) software experience, is desirable
  • Strong client service focus
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to take initiative, identify issues and deliver timely solutions
  • Analytical and conceptual skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
