We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team, reporting to the Associate Director, Payroll.  You will responsible for end-to-end payroll processing of the fortnightly, monthly, and end of month pay cycles of our national payroll of approximately 800 staff.  The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy as well as the ability to multi-task effectively in a high-volume payroll transactions environment.

 

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

 

  • End to end payroll processing of the fortnightly, monthly, and end of month pay cycles using the ADP PayForce system
  • Create and maintain employee records and process HR/Payroll transactions
  • Calculation of various types of termination payments
  • Prepare and lodge monthly PAYG, Payroll Tax, Work Cover remittances
  • Facilitate the superannuation remittance process
  • Respond to queries in a professional and timely fashion
  • Production of payroll reports and ad hoc reports as required
  • End of year payroll processes including Payment Summaries and Payroll Tax reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly reconciliations for specific accounts including wages, payroll tax, group tax and staff deductions
  • Work closely with Finance. IT and HR team members to ensure employees and managers receive high quality and accurate service

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • At least 3 years' experience with end to end payroll processing including all associated statutory payments, month-end reporting and reconciliations
  • At least 3 years' experience using a payroll system (ADP PayForce desirable but not essential)
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll rules, tax and regulations
  • Good understanding of fundamental accounting concepts
  • Exposure to HRIS systems
  • High proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel skills in PivotTables, Pivot Charts and VLOOKUPS
  • Experience in Award interpretation and knowledge of the Fair Work Act and website
  • Strong client service mindset
  • Ability to establish rapport with stakeholders across the organisation
