Due to recent growth in our business and a key client appointment we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Portfolio Accountant to join our Client Financial Services team, and be the team lead for this major client portfolio.  The Senior Portfolio Accountant will have responsibility to lead the team to ensure delivery of services in line with the terms of the client contracts and agreed service levels. 

Core responsibilities of this role include: 

  • Being responsible for the delivery of effective and consistent financial management of the client portfolio by the team
  • Working closely with the client portfolio to understand the client's needs and ensure that their contracted services have been delivered
  • Monitoring and identifying any issues with processes and systems and mitigate any associated client risk
  • Reviewing and analysing financial results of the client portfolio
  • Developing strong relationships with clients and acting as the lead to respond to any client concerns or queries to meet desired outcomes
  • Reviewing information systems and processes to ensure they meet the needs of the client and implementing necessary process change where improvement opportunities exist
  • Providing training on accounting systems and processes to clients and property managers
  • Ensuring compliance to all relevant policies, processes, guidelines and standards by the team

 The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum 5 years property accounting experience within a major property group
  • Portfolio management experience
  • Degree qualification in Accounting required, CA/CPA desirable
  • Solid understanding of the property industry
  • An ability to operate in both a strategic and operational manner
  • An ability to lead and coach other team members and implement process change
  • Experience with various accounting systems including Management Reporting International (MRI)
  • Strong client service focus
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to think innovatively
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills including training and presentation skills
