We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Consultant. This role will see you sit within the Project Management and Building Consultancy team where you will be exposed to varied projects and clients across the board. The successful candidate will be highly organised, self-motivated and deadline driven. This is often a fast-paced role and we are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative team player who is keen to join a successful team.

The role will be based in the Sydney office, but the successful candidate will be required to service clients in various locations throughout NSW and Australia as client requirements demand.

The Role:

  • Procure project team consultants (including structural engineers, building services engineers, architects) and arrange appointment documentation
  • Brief project team
  • Co-ordinate consultants to establish key project parameters
  • Prepare project brief
  • Prepare project master programme and budget cost plan for client approval
  • Coordinate the detailed design documentation and conduct value engineering if necessary
  • Coordinate and obtain necessary statutory consents
  • Prepare tender package and analyse tender returns
  • Negotiate contract terms and administer the construction contract
  • Coordinate and control contractors' activities including the procurement of plant and materials
  • Oversee the progress and standard of construction works
  • Assess/monitor overall client programme and contractor performance
  • Manage the consultant team to assist in control of the contractors works
  • Manage and coordinate project completion and final accounts
  • Provide professional building consultancy advice
  • Technical Due Diligence and Capital Expenditure reporting
  • Design management
  • Make good assessments and negotiations
  • Defect diagnosis and schedules of condition
  • Ensure that long term relationships are maintained in addition to developing new client relationships

The Person:

  • At least 5 years of relevant Project Management & Building Consultancy experience within the commercial property sector
  • Experience in all aspects of key service lines - project management, contract administration, make goods, budget costings, defect diagnosis
  • Good understanding of relevant building legislation
  • Good understanding of financial reports
  • Familiarity with processes involved with project delivery from inception to completion
  • Ability to develop and maintain a network of contacts
  • Ability to work unsupervised and make decisions
  • Identify new business
  • Ability to uncover and understand client objectives
  • Good attention to detail
  • Computer literate
  • Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Desirable but not essential)
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent in a property related discipline (Desirable)
