The Sustainability Manager is responsible for conducting NABERS ratings and BEECs with a focus on Knight Frank managed properties.  This role will be instrumental in developing environmental plans, NABERS improvement strategies and adding value to Knight Frank clients and instructions. The role requires the ability to gain stakeholder interest/ support for proposed projects and initiatives.


This newly created role will report into the Head of Sustainability based in Adelaide and will work closely with the Head of AMS, Victoria, the National Head of Facilities Management and the Victoria based Asset Management Services Team.


The Role:

  • Conduct NABERS ratings and BEECs
  • Assist with the development of sustainability strategies
  • Develop cost effective solutions to reduce and optimise the consumption of energy and water on site
  • Contribute to Client and other statutory reporting requirements
  • Assist with the implementation of specific sustainability programs and coordination of education programs
  • Assist with the preparation, correlation and submission of all reports and statistics required and requested by Knight Frank
  • Analyse specific property and portfolio performance and instruct corrective actions by FMs or PMs
  • Participate in national corporate programs as required
  • Monitor and advise on legislative changes
  • Assist with any Carbon Neutral programs
  • Represent Knight Frank on any nominated industry advisory or sustainability committees


To be considered for this role you will have:

  • NABERS and CBD assessor (Essential)
  • A tertiary qualification in environmental management, engineering or real estate
  • Ability to assess the capability of the building services and forecast maintenance, upgrade and budget requirements (Essential)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (Essential)
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role - including client presentation (Essential)
  • Solid experience in writing thorough and cohesive reports/ client recommendations
  • Highly competent in Energy Management Principles and Practices
  • Competent in understanding/optimising building operations
  • Experience in Green Star and NABERS principles
  • Experience in Waste and Environmental Principles/ Practices
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
