The role: 

This exciting Facilities Manager position is accountable for managing the assigned retail centre for a major landlord and ensuring that the client's asset is protected and enhanced.  This is an opportunity to leverage your skills and knowledge within Facilities Management and take your career to the next level. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Be the primary contact for technical and maintenance advice, supporting your Onsite Management Team and Clients
  • Day-to-day building management operations, including preventative & reactive maintenance
  • Ensuring compliance, statutory, health & safety obligations are adhered to
  • Provide recommendations to the Onsite Building Management Team & Clients to improve efficiencies on maintenance and operational issues
  • Ensure a high level of quality control of all contractors
  • Conduct regular inspections of the entire building, including all common areas and plant rooms
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Risk Management procedures in accordance with National and State regulations and Client's requirements 

Who are we looking for?

  • Relevant experience in facilities management within retail or commercial assets
  • Tertiary qualifications (degree or diploma) or trade qualification in electrical, mechanical engineering or plumbing desired not essential
  • A sound understanding of all aspects of facilities management functions, including maintenance, sustainability, procurement, contractor management, budgeting, safety & compliance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A high level of financial aptitude, computer literacy, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship development skills
  • Strong organizational & coordination skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously whilst achieving deadlines
  • Knowledge of industry best practice, building codes and legislative requirements relating to facilities management
  • Excellent attention to detail, proactive approach in identifying and troubleshooting issues
  • Ability to adapt & be able to operate with a high level of autonomy, within a project or part of a team environment.
